23 Oct 2009 - October Newsletter
Dear Parents,
We have had a good start to the year with no sign yet of the predicted Swine Flu outbreak. We have taken extra precautions in school with more hygienic hand washing facilities in every class room we are hoping to limit the spread of any germs.
Year 3 have had a brilliant start to the year winning the Star Attendee’s Trophy five out of the six weeks so far this term! Special congratulations to 3R who have won it three times – one week with 100% attendance. Late arrivals count against attendance figures as fractions of the day lost, so 100% means no child was late all that week!!!
Our whole school attendance was 94.4% last year, so again we are aiming for 95% this year. At the moment we are only at 93.6% as so many families took holiday in September. This is why I will be looking at the attendance figures of every child very carefully before authorising any holidays this year.
Please make a note in your diaries of the Christmas events below and watch out for further details nearer the time.
MACMILLAN ‘WORLD’S BIGGEST’ COFFEE MORNING
